Let's come together to celebrate this milestone and look forward to another year of making a difference. Bring your friends and family, and let's make this day memorable!
Our amazing team of survivors and volunteers are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action.
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
It has been in the news lately that the possibility of a red light district is coming to San Francisco, California, which will have a direct impact on the work we do. We at Redemption House of the Bay Area do not support this for multiple reasons.
It normalizes and condones exploitation.
It increases demand for trafficking victims.
It undermines efforts to combat sex trafficking.
It promotes gender inequality.
It can lead to increased crime and social problems.
If you want to protect women, an alternative solution is an Equlity Model or Nordic Model approach which has been adopted by several countries, including Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Canada. This model decriminalizes those who sell sex but criminalizes the buyers and those who facilitate prostitution, such as pimps and brothel owners.
Buyers of sex are the individuals who perpetuate this industry. They are the fuel that keeps this running. Whether they choose to turn a blind eye to the age of the person they are purchasing, or worse, actively seek out minors, they are complicit in the destruction of lives.
Senate Bill 1414, proposed by Senator Shannon Grove, Democrat Anna Caballero, and Democrat Anna Caballero, would make it a felony to solicit, agree to engage, or engage in sex with minors for money. It would also require them to register as a sex offender.
Currently the bill is making its way through senate with amendments placed on it and we are advocating for the bill to pass without amendments

This year has been a journey for Redemption House as we proudly reflect on our milestones. Securing our first physical location in Santa Rosa marks a cornerstone in our mission to provide a lifeline for survivors of human trafficking. The resonance of our cause echoed through the success of our first annual fundraiser, with the support of a compassionate community.
Our street outreach initiative extended its reach to the heart of human trafficking in Northern California, the SF Tenderloin, where we continue to make a tangible impact. Co-founders Liz and Lisa have not only steered our organization but have also personally evolved, becoming catalysts for positive change in countless lives.
The acquisition of a grant writer further fortifies our ability to secure resources, ensuring sustained growth and impact. Our commitment to education has flourished, reaching beyond our walls to jails and high schools, fostering awareness and empowerment.
In the wake of a federal case exposing ceremonial exploitation in Las Vegas, impacting women from the Bay Area, Redemption House rose to the occasion. Our team stepped up to aid survivors, providing a lifeline for those affected. Whether facilitating a safe return to California or offering support for those seeking a fresh start, Redemption House became a resource for those navigating the aftermath of this event.
We put forth dedicated efforts to support victims of human trafficking and sexual assault within Tribal communities. Through referrals, we've connected survivors with counseling, advocacy, and legal assistance specifically attuned to the unique needs of Native American populations.
Redemption House successfully repatriated its first survivor from her rescue location in the Bay Area to her home in the Midwest. Collaborating with local resources, we ensured a seamless transition, providing the survivor with the support needed for reintegration.
As we reflect on these achievements, we recognize that our journey is far from over. The resilience of survivors and the unwavering support from our community fuel our determination to do more. In 2024, we eagerly anticipate further expansion, collaborations, and innovative approaches to uplift those seeking redemption.
Thank you for making 2023 a year of hope, healing, and progress. Together, we will continue to be the beacon of redemption for those on their path to reclaiming their lives.
